Original Kitchen- Small Spaces

A real-life renovation of a small kitchen - small in real life not the small kitchens on TV.
We started the tasks on February 17th, 2006.  Planning has taken more than a year.

After Thoughts

Our Kitchen is small.  It is about 68 square feet in total.

It is a galley style, in that it opens at 2 ends (actually thre spots, see design below).  One wall is just over 9 feet long.

The other wall is just over 5 feet long.

Originally the kitchen did not have an installed dishwasher, and has limited cabinet space and counter top space.  It's 68 square feet,  with three entrance ways, what would you expect.

We use some software to plan out the layout of the kitchen.  Above is a screen capture from the Ikea software, free on their site.

We looked at the possibilities of taking out a wall, expanding the kitchen and gaining more space at the expense of the dinning room.

We decided against this for a variety of reasons, including costs and complexity of the changes, especially in a condo environment.
