A real-life renovation of a small kitchen - small in real life not the small kitchens on TV.
We started the tasks on February 17th,2006. Planning has taken more than a year.

Tile Floor
| We had selected our tile over 1 year before hand which we used first in the bathroom beside the kitchen.
There are inexpensive 12 inch square ceramic tiles. The 99 cent a tile deals you see at the bid box stores. We bought them all from one batch so they would match.
We tile the whole floor except for corners we knew where covered by cabinets. So all the way under the fridge and stove.
We had three transitions. Between the bathroom and the kitchen (tile to tile) kitchen and the hall (tile to floating floor) and kitchen to dining room (floating floor).
We selected the marble transition for the bathroom to kitchen.
This was a 24 inchd doorway, reall small. The marble is sold in 32 inch lengths, and was cheap, only $10. Rona cuts the marble with no guarenttee it will not split. Only cost $1. They also gave me a great tip to round the edge of the sharp side. Use wet sand paper (it's special) and lots of water and take it easy. Marble will crack easy under pressure or heat. It worked like a charm.
We selected the floating floor transitions for the other enterences. They worker well. They have a little gap, but the filler works well for cover up the gap.
