José-Daniel Reyes

I am a Senior Economist at The World Bank. My professional experience includes monitoring macro-fiscal developments, providing technical assistance and policy advice on topics related to macroeconomics, fiscal policy, and debt management. I lead multi-sectoral lending operations to support structural reforms in developing counties.  Currently, I am the World Bank Senior Country Economist for Argentina. Previously, I covered Cabo Verde and Guinea-Bissau. My research interest lies on firm-level responses to regulatory reforms aimed at promoting trade or improving the investment climate in developing countries. I have experience leading policy dialogue in Latin-America, Africa, Europe, and Asia. Prior to joining The World Bank, I worked for the Inter-American Development Bank and for the Colombian government conducting macro monitoring in Latin American. I hold a PhD in Economics from Georgetown University, where I received the Razin prize for the best dissertation in Economics.
