PhD candidate in sociology at Vanderbilt University, former Graduate Teaching Fellow at the Center for Teaching Medical practices have changed significantly since the mid-twentieth century by technologies that often seem more like science fiction than medical fact.   Have you ever wondered about the consequences of these technologies beyond their therapeutic benefits? How might technologies become integrated into the lives of their users? My dissertation addresses these and related questions.
