Call for Auditions - Recruiting Dancers and Drummers

DanceTahiti is recruiting dancers and drummers for its professional troupe. Interested dancers and musicians may contact Kareva. DanceTahiti performs at many venues and our dance season runs from mid-March to early September with a couple of performances throughout October and November. Dance Tahiti also performs at private parties and luaus, birthday parties, fundraising events, cultural presentations, and public and private functions. Childrens' parties will include a dance workshop and learning a choreography.

Qualifications: Dancers with experience in the following forms should transition easily into Contemporary Tahitian Ballets:

Tahitian, Hula, Afro-Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, Samba, Flamenco, Salsa, and other fast moving ethnic dance forms will adapt to Tahitian with ease.  Other qualifications are ability to learn choreographies as well as possess a positive attitude and body image, grace, stage presence, and eclectic energy!   Above all, you must have a desire to perform and exchange your energy with the audience. Performers must be committed and able to dedicate at least six hours a week to rehearsals.

Compensation: So far, no monetary compensation.  Compensation is obtained through the joy of performing, the opportunity to perform, and having performances for your resume. However, troupe tips and other forms of venue payment go toward troupe expenses such as travel, costumes, and gas reimbursement.
