History of the Danbury Fish and Game Association
The Danbury Fish and Game Association was founded in 1912, making it the oldest Fish and Game Club in the state of Connecticut. Throughout the years, the club has had numerous meeting places, including local firehouses, diners and homes of members. In 1998, we secured a 25 year lease with the city of Danbury for our current location. The original building was used by the Town Constables, and was vacant for a number of years. The club members put together their own resources to make it into the fine building it is today - in an ideal location directly south of Candlewood Lake & the Danbury Town Park. Today, we are a structured non-profit organization (501C) with by-laws, committees, and an annual election of officers.
