Bio:

Kathryn Damm is an Assistant Professor at Nevada State College where she loves exploring new ways to use online tools in her classes. Originally from San Diego, California, she received her B.A. in Human Development and a B.S. in Psychology at the University of California, San Diego. She received her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology at the University of California, San Diego. She has taught a range of courses including Introduction to Psychology, Statistics, Social Psychology, Cross-Cultural Psychology, and Health Psychology. Recently, Kathryn has participated in the Teaching Fellows Institute, a Blackboard Catalyst award winning program designed to use technology to advance excellence in teaching and student service. Her use of technology taps into students’ existing knowledge and provides a stimulating means to expand what they know. She seeks to engage and excite students about the material so that they will begin to proactively ask questions, think critically, and search for connections and relevance on their own.
