Damar City Park Renovation Project
Our Project has been featured in a National Publication...
The National Recreation and Park Association's publication, Parks and Recreation, has our project featured in it's April, 2009 "Leave It Better" column.
After receiving a grant from the Dane G. Hansen foundation in 2007 and a grant from the Kansas Dept of Health & Environment in 2008, a Project Plan was developed to add play equipment, benches, and picnic tables in the park. In September of 2008, we kicked off our Fundraising Campaign to raise the remaining funds needed to renovate our City Park....
Thanks to all of our generous Donors, our Fundraising Efforts were successful. On April 25th, 2009 we installed the new play equipment along with the landscape timbers and mulch both made from recycled tires in the City Park....
On April 26th, 2009 the children and Willie the Wildcat from Kansas State University enjoyed the new play equipment at the Damar City Park....
