In September 2010, we acquired a few alpacas. We are still figuring out what to do with them, but have discovered that they are strange and wonderful creatures. They are gentle and sweet, but don't enjoy being touched. I can't blame them, I don't like being touched by strangers either. Unlike the cattle, they refuse to share their feed with the multitude of deer that frequent the farm in the winter months (good girls!). We hope to have their fleece processed and turned into yarn.
