Almost everyone has heard about Jesus. To many he is sort of like a folk hero or an urban legend. But Jesus is much more than that. He is both the Sone of God and also God the Son. He is both 100% man and 100% God at the same time. As God the Son He chose to submit Himself to being incarnated as a human being. Through the work of the Holy Spirit in a young girl named Mary, Jesus was born more than 2,000 years ago. He lived a sinless life as a man here on earth. The Creator visited the creation and lived among us. As a sinless human being only He had the proper credentials to become the perfect sacrifice. He died on a Roman cross and His death was accepted in full payment for all of our sins: past, present and future. His dead body was placed in a tomb but three days later He rose from the dead. Later He ascended to Heaven to prepare a place for all who would believe in Him.

 

Everyone has an opportunity to spend eternity in Heaven with God. But going to Heaven is not automatic. We must have faith in Jesus Christ. We must believe that His death paid for our sins. We must turn to Him by faith and, at the same time, turn away from our selfish, prideful, self-centered lifestyle of sin. When we do this and totally rely on Jesus for God's free gift of Heaven and Eternal Life then our place in Heaven in assured.
