Concorde Bicycle Advertising

Concorde bicycle advertisements were at their peak in the early to mid 1980s as you can see from the cycling fashion and Campagnolo groupset. But the best advertising for Concorde bicycles was the fact that great riders were winning races on Concorde riding for PDM. Riders like Sean Kelly, Steven Rooks, Pedro Delgardo and very briefly Greg LeMond.

Here's a very rare image of Greg LeMond while riding for PDM in the early season of 1988 as featured on Winning Magazine. In this issue of Winning Magazine Greg LeMond talks about preparing for the 1988 Tour de France, and he is excited to be riding with a new team like PDM. Its a pity PDM didn't keep LeMond, 1989 and 1990 was great for LeMond and PDM would have been kicking themselves for those two years.

This ad is from Winning Magazine 1991. In this year Miguel Indurain wins his first Tour de France, a young Lance Armstrong wins Gastown Grand Prix in Canada, the PDM is the number 1 team in professional cycling.
