Cycle Somerset Are a group of "everyday" cyclists, we are about exploring the countryside, unwinding (or perhaps that should be escaping) from the daily pressures of life and enjoying each others company - plus of course consuming any good food / drink we can lay our hands on! We are not focused on getting fit, racing or having the latest equipment or lycra clothing, but we do like to think of ourselves as "all inclusive". What we do We organise a variety of rides, ranging from a few hours to week long tours and believe cycling should be a pleasure not a race or endurance test. The club has members from all walks of life, male, female, young and old. Families are particularly welcome. We are actively involved in campaigning for the provision of better cycling facilities in and around Somerset. We provide a quarterly newsletter for our members, with news of upcoming events, details of new legislation or developments that may effect cyclists and the occasional product review. We have a variety of equipment, maps and cycling kit that is available free of charge for the use of our members. NOTE:- Everyone is welcome (member or non-member) to join us on our club rides, anyone under the age of 16 years must however be accompanied by a parent or guardian. |

Thinking of joining us for one of our rides,
- The Start times on our rides are meet times, we usually start 10 - 15 min after the advertised time!
- Many riders will have basic bike maintenance knowledge and will happily help with minor adjustments to make your ride more comfortable. If however you think your bike needs more than a simple 'tweak' then it is probably better to get it serviced at a bike shop.
- In winter or on our evening rides you may end up riding home in the dark, so please ensure you bring bike lights and high visibility clothing.
- On the subject of clothing, bring layers that allow you to add or strip off as necessary, it helps you enjoy the ride!
