 Welcome to the Cycle Somerset "round the world" club challenge page. A number of us signed up to the challenge to cycle 18k miles in the 8 months that was our 2010 rides season (March - October). We aimed to achieve the 18k miles as a cumulative members total. We achieved our our original 18k target with in excess of 80 days to go! We were doing so well that we decided to extend the goal to 24 847 miles (the distance around the equator). To give the challenge some purpose we suggest participants pledge to donate 1p for every mile logged. All money collected from this event was donated to St Margarets Somerset Hospice. The challenge has proved so successful that we have achieved in excess of 30 700 miles or in terms of money over £300 for St Margaret's hospice. |
