About the MS Bike Ride
- This is the 27th annual “Rock-N-Roll” Bike Ride, a two-day fundraising tour for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
- Around 500 cyclists are expected to depart from Lander's Center (formerly DeSoto Civic Center) on Saturday and ride through the scenic back roads to Tunica. Lunch is provided at the Hernando Court Square.
- NEW SHORTER ROUTES THIS YEAR! On both days, you'll have the option to complete either 45 or 75 mile routes. Day 1 also has a 100-mile option.
- A pool party, pasta buffet, and awards program will take place at Gold Strike Casino that evening, where we will spend the night.
- On Sunday, you'll return to Lander's Center. Sunday's journey back is known for its infamous "Wall." Lunch is included.
- The ride is fully supported by volunteers and by Bikes Plus, and there are rest stops every 10-12 miles along the way.
- Cost: Registration fee plus donations of at least $300.
This is a Fundraiser
- In order to participate, each cyclist must raise a minimum of $300 (in addition to the non-refundable registration fee).
- All donations are tax-deductible. You can give your donor a receipt (attached below).
- Checks must be made payable to the National MS Society.
- When you sign up online, you will have the opportunity to create your personal fund raising page, where you can direct friends and family to make donations securely with their credit or debit card.
- Cash and check donations can be turned in anytime. Take them to the MSS office at 5341 Estate Office Park Dr. Suite 2; they are open 9-5.
- Best Practice: Use a deposit slip when turning in cash and checks. (attached below)
- Raise $300 - minimum allowed to participate - entitles you to meals, support, overnight lodging, and an event t-shirt.
- Raise $700 - earn a special edition tech-tee.
- Raise $1,000 - You become a VIBE (Very Important Bike Entrepreneur) and earn special ride perks, a limited edition jersey, and free registration the following year.
Overnight Lodging
- Cyclists and Volunteers are responsible for booking and paying for their own rooms at Gold Strike.
- We receive a special rate of $109 for a double occupancy room ($54.50 per person). To reserve your room, call 1-888-245-7829 and use code 1209FEDEXR to get the discounted rate.
- We recommend you pair up with another Cyclelogical member to share the cost of the room. If you need assistance finding a roommate, please let Andrea or Matt know.
- We highly recommend you reserve your room as soon as possible, as only a certain number were blocked at the special rate. If at all possible, reserve your room by August.
The RouteThe Rock-N-Roll Bike MS route will again include a ~45-mile route option for each day of the ride, so anyone of any level can participate. View the new routes here.
Traveling to Memphis for the MS ride?
- If you are traveling to Memphis for the ride, the MS150 Planning Committee has secured a special rate at the Best Western Goodman Inn & Suites, just 5 minutes from the DeSoto Civic Center.
- The $69.99 rate is good Friday night through Sunday night.
