2009 Beach Blast Series Juniors Sand Volleyball Events
The Cary YMCA Boys Volleyball Club Beach Blast sand volleyball series is an organized pickup format to allow our junior boys to gain experience playing outdoors beach volleyball. The events are held once a month on third Saturdays of each month from June to September. The Beach Blast series is a fun event which encourages learning, participation, sportsmanship and teamwork. No partners are required.

Registration:
1st of the Month - Registration opens to CYBVC Boys.
8th of the Month - Registration opens to Program Participants.

The first eight boys in each division registered on evite.com will be participating.  We will create a waiting list after the 8 slots are filled.  ****

Place and Times:
Third Saturday of each Month. Green Hope Elementary Park 8:30am-2pm  (EVENT #3 Aug 15th moved to North Cary Park)
***Start and ending times are approximate and will vary depending on weather, number of participants and courts we can use***

Tournament Format:
King of the Beach Style - No partners needed. You play for your own points by taking turns partnering with each other player on your net. 4-8 player maximum on each net and will depend on number of nets open. 12's divisions will include an on-court Coach to teach and assist in game control.

Each player will accumulate points at each months event that will be added up at the end of the four dates for a "GRAND CHAMPION" in each division.

Age Definitions:
14 and under division: Players who were born on or after Sept. 1st, 1994.
12 and under division: Players who were born on or after Sept. 1st, 1996.

Series Points will be awarded as listed:
1 - All players will be awarded a participation point
3 - Third Place
4 - Second Place
6 - First Place

Cost:
CYBVC Junior Boys $6/player, Non-members - program participants $8/player (payable on event day)
Gatorade, water and snack provided. Awards given for each division winners.
* The Beach Blast Series is a non-profit event. All the moneys collected go to providing adequate drinks, snacks and prizes for the players.

Adult Volunteers Required:
As always....I'm looking for plenty of help to run these events.   You can help in a number of different ways and most of them require little if any knowledge or playing ability.  Please, please let me know if you are interested in helping with any or all of the categories.    Without your help....these events can't take place.

• Event Director:  OK...so this job does take a little knowledge of the game and some experience with the Beach Blast setup.  You will be expected to show up a little early to get the courts prepared, run the days events including court assignments, bracket setup, prize and awards presentations.
  
• Event Host:  No game knowledge or prior experience needed. The Directors will be primarily responsible for snack, drink and awards purchases or creation of Crowns and awards and the collecting the tournament fees for the day to pay for all of the purchases.  Click here for Beach Blast Event Host Guide
  
• On-Court Coach:  We will be placing on-court coaches into the 12's division.  These coaches will remain in the setting position and be a ball-control and court educator for the boys.  Moms, Dads, older brothers and sisters with good beach volleyball skills and the desire to help our youngest learn the great sport of beach volleyball are welcome.
