Growing Boys Volleyball.....One Boy at a Time.

The Cary Family YMCA (919-469-9622) is the foundation of our volleyball club. The YMCA provides the organization, players, gym time, equipment and great families that make our club go and grow. We couldn't do it without the Management, Employees and Great Members of the Cary Family YMCA.

CYBVC is preparing for its 12th season. Our teams participate in Carolina Region Boys and Girls tournaments, Tri Boys Volleyball League, Richmond Virginia Boys tournament,  "Boys East Coast Championships" in Richmond Virginia and USA Volleyball  Junior Olympic National events.

Our club has "Served" over 70 Boys Volleyball Players in the past 11 years.  Three of our recent Graduates are playing College Mens Volleyball at
Lees-McRae College and George Mason University.  We hold weekly team practices and scrimmages at the map to Cary Family YMCA which is a branch of the Triangle YMCA. For more information contact the Club Director Brian Magee

Ambassadors of the Game
Over the past 12 years, our club has attracted a lot of outstanding young men.   The overriding goal of this club has been to introduce the sport of Volleyball to our members.  It always inspires me to hear the stories and reports of the many players that we have going outside of our club to play, coach, organize and become a part of the volleyball community.
I am sure that the work by these fine young ambassadors of Boys Volleyball paves the way for more opportunities for our future players.  Many of the area high schools have one or more of our members managing their schools girls volleyball programs.
Cary - Nick Hawk, Andrew Barrier
Panther Creek - Chris Hawk, Andrew McMurray
Ravenscroft - Aidan Carroll
Holly Springs - Gaige Cogswell
Fuquay-Varina - Aaron Lympany
I'd also like you to read about the good work Davis Litzenberger (2007 Graduate) is doing at NC State building a Men's College Club Program.  http://www.technicianonline.com/sports/club-team-showing-volleyball-not-just-for-girls-1.1881692

GREAT CAUSE....AND GREAT FUN

Aidan Carroll did a great job of organizing two Co-ed 4x4 teams to enter the Spike for a Cause charity event. Aidan, Chris Hawk, Andrew McMurray and Amit Katyayan were joined by girls from the Ravenscroft High School Volleyball team.  Playing volleyball and raising money for Colon Cancer Coalition.....great job guys.

Pfeiffer University Men's Volleyball Coach Ben Guiliano
Pfeiffer University is starting a Men's Volleyball program and Coach Ben is hoping to help us promote and improve opportunities for boys programs.  I'll be sure to forward more information as I get it.  Check here for more information about this brand new program:  http://www.gofalconsports.com/sport.asp?sportID=26
Nov 1, 2009.  Coach Ben will hold a Boys Clinic at the Greensboro Sportsplex targeting Middle school Boys.  There will also be a men’s college tournament prior to this clinic

TBVL Update
Plans are being worked out for our second season of the Tri-Boys Volleyball league (TBVL).  Due to last seaons success, we are all hoping to add a 10-14's Division this season. This league allowed more player involvement, more consistent play and experience for all of the boys involved.  Next season can only get bigger and better.
             TBVL 1st League Match 1/9/09 CHVAC @ CYBVC-1
Last season the league was setup for our area 15-18 Boys teams to get regular play that is close to home and easy to schedule. The Cary YMCA Boys Club (CYBVC) has two teams, Fuquay-Varina Athletic Association (FVAA) and Chapel Hill Area Volleyball Club each have boys teams in the league.  Check here for the league match schedules, scores, standings and team information

BIG NEWS!!!!   Conference Carolinas will introduce men's volleyball as a new conference emerging sport for the 2010 spring season.  The league will be the first and only comprised of just NCAA DII institutions, as well as the first and only league under an actual NCAA supported conference.  Conference Carolinas becomes a pioneer in influencing the future of the men's volleyball national championships. 2010 schools will include Lees-McRae College, Mount Olive College, Limestone College, Pfeiffer University and King College.
