calypso ore

  • Current version: Calypso Ore 1.8.3

  • You might have to download and install "Microsoft Chart Controls" for the program to work, you can find it here.

  • First time you run the program it will take a minute to initialize the maps.

  • Some features require that chat logging is enabled in EU.

  • Please read the rest of this page before installation.

There is now a finances page where you can track your income and expenses.

As of version 1.1 Calypso Ore contains a dictionary of all raw resources in EU, this dictionary is used to check the OCR translations and greatly increases the probability that a valid spelling of deed details is logged.

Mining grid page allows for tracking of dropped probe locations, which can be manual or automatic and also includes finds in the surrounding area. Also ores are now color coded and plotted with their own color on the main map, you can right click on a ore to give it a custom color. There are two mapping options available AND/OR, now you will be able to map ores with specific sizes. And you can limit the area of the screen given to OCR software on the settings page.

Chat log page is where you can see the events that took place while you were playing and some filters are available. Also deed parsing code has been optimized, as a result parsing of drops is faster. Please clean (delete or rename) your chat.log every once in a while, it's size affects performance of the program.

Version 0.5 includes Amethera map and the option to have position points added automatically, you can find this option in the settings tab. All you have to do with this setting to add position points is press the "p" (default key) to get your location.

As of version 0.4 parsing of the chat.log file from the Entropia directory has been added, for now this functionality is used to map position points. This should be useful for spacing out your drops, if your scanner has a range of 50m, you should in theory be dropping a probe every 100m. To use the point distance calculations, do the following:

    1. Enable chat logging in Entropia (options menu-options-controls-enable chat logging)

    2. Press letter "p" (default) to get your position printed in the chat.

    3. Right-click the Calypso ore icon in the tray and select add-point.

    4. The program will calculate the distance between points you add.

Please note that the current version is in alpha state and that there might be bugs, if you are having trouble with parsing drops here is the procedure again:

    1. Run Planet Calypso in a window

    2. Look at the ground

    3. Open the ore deed and select it (so the writing is light blue)

    4. Wait until the blue text with drop details is clearly visible

    5. Right click on Calypso Ore icon in the tray and select "Screenshot" (or press print-screen)

    6. Wait for the drop to be logged

This image shows an example of what a good screenshot for processing looks like.

It is possible to disable the rotating page on the deed info window this image shows how to accomplish that.

(advanced options have been disabled, you will have to take another screenshot if the parsing fails)

If you want to enable advanced options and experiment with them, this is what the procedure is:

    1. You load a screen-shot from file

    2. You pick text color

    3. Switch over to pixilation tab

    4. Set the sensitivity

    5. Pixelate the text

    6. If the text is not visible or of pure quality, you can repeat steps 2-5 with different color and sensitivity

    7. Set the scale for tesseract and try to translate

The advanced procedure can be used to recognize any text on any image, the text box in the translated tab will show the parsed text result.
