The CWZ Team:

The Arizona Central West Zone Type 2 Incident Management Team was formed in the late 1980's as an interagency Incident Management Team. Team members have come from the U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, Arizona State Lands, National Park Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs, U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, Prescott Fire Department, Central Yavapai Fire Department, Daisy Mountain Fire Department as well as agencies in New Mexico . Our zone of responsibility runs from Kingman to the North, Yuma to the South, Prescott and Tonto National Forests, Colorado River area, and lands around Phoenix.

While we do recruit new team members every season, some of the members have been on the team for over 15 years. We have managed large fires in Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, Oregon, and North Carolina.

The current Incident Commander is Tony Sciacca. Other Incident Commanders that have served on the team include:
