| WHAT IS CANADA WORLD YOUTH? In brief, Canada World Youth designs and delivers international educational programs for youth (aged 17-24) with a focus on volunteer work and community development in a cross-cultural setting. Since 1971, more than 27,000 youth have participated in Canada World Youth programs. As a team, youth live and work in communities in Canada and overseas, learning about local and international development and gaining essential job skills for the future.
From early September to late November, Winnipeg will be hosting a group of 18 Canada World Youth (CWY) participants from India and across Canada.
During their three month stay, participants live in pairs (one Canadian and one Indian) with local families. Through this experience, participants become integrated into the community, while families have the opportunity to learn more about their community, country and the world. If you are interested in becoming a host family, please contact Leslie McNabb, Canadian Project Supervisor, at 284.4591 or lmcnabb@cwy-jcm.org.
VOLUNTEER PLACEMENTS! CWY needs organizations interested in welcoming one young Canadian and one young Indian volunteer into their work place. We are seeking placements with a focus on social service, health, community development, the environment, and education. |
