A Sport Pilot can navigate their sport plane many different ways, but like most pilots, GPS navigation has become the primary source of information.

While there are many different brands and models of GPS available, many Sport Pilots choose a reliable handheld GPS such as a Garmin GPS.

• Garmin 96 GPS 
  • A good GPS for the budget minded pilot.  This GPS comes with either a Color or Grayscale display 
• Garmin 196 GPS
  •  A 3.8 in. Grayscale screen that has served me extremely well during my first years of flying.
• Garmin 295 GPS
  • A 4 in. 16 color screen that helps a pilot differentiate between elements displayed by this GPS.  This handheld is a great model with a color screen
• Garmin 296 GPS
  • An amazing GPS that combines a 256 colors on a 3.8 in. TFT display.  Garmin has also managed to squeeze in terrain data into this little handheld.  There is a reason this GPS is found in so many planes.  
• Garmin 396 GPS
  • This is the pinnacle of Handheld GPS technology.  The 396 combines everything a Sport Pilot could want and more into a very competitive package.  Imagine having XM satellite weather displayed over a moving map on your 256 color screen.
