One day a very learned Saint was to visit a Village. Those days if a Saint pay visit to villages, the people of that village come to the border to receive him with respect.

 

There lived equally learned scholar in the village where Saint was to make visit. The Saint reached the village border and lot of people led by this scholar waiting to receive the Saint. Upon seeing, the scholar himself had come to receive, the Saint was shocked and enquired the scholar "While I am honored by this, however, I am feeling bit embarased. You are a scholar with more educated and competent than me, please understand my position. You could have sent some one else to receive me!"

 

The scholar replied with folded hand " I have searched the entire village but could not find anyone smaller than me".

 

"The one who is humble is the one who is full of knowledge........."

 

"Fully filled pot does not spill"

 

"Empty vessels make the most noise"
