Upcoming workshops

Workshops at CUTS are friendly and informative, with small group sizes meaning you get intensive support and plenty of space to work.

These workshops are open to anybody, although those under 18 need to get a parent or guardian to sign a consent form.

Saturday 4th of October , 1-5pm
Crocheted Flower Masterclass with Purlesque.
Purlesque, Liverpool's hippest haberdasherers will be sharing the secrets of their beautiful Crocheted Flowers, ideal for those who came to our crochet introductions last year, or even those with limited experience of this fine craft. £35 including materials.

Saturday 10th of October, 1-5pm
Devore/ Burn-Out Screen Printing with Christine Toh.
Textile Artist Christine Toh gives an introduction to Devore, a method  that dissolves the top layer of the fibre in velvet or specialist linen to turn your printed or painted area into translucency or relief finishes. Ideal for those who have previously done our UV screen-print induction, but also suitable for those without screen print experience. £45 including materials.

Bookbinding with Beccy Williams
Learn traditional hard-back binding techniques to make your own sketchbooks , notebooks , journals and photo albums. Can be used with virgin (new) materials or to recycle misprinted paper and window envelopes.

Free-machine Embroidery and Dissolving Fabric with Beccy Williams
CUTS's Coordinator and textile artist, Beccy Williams, will be giving an insight into Free-Machine Embroidery techniques that can be used to 'draw' in stitch directly onto fabric or in conjunction with with dissolving fabric, a film which disappears in cold water leaving only the network of stitches behind, allowing you to create beautiful lacey 3-D objects and jewellery.£35 including materials.

Gig Poster Masterclass with Rhys Wootton.
Brighton Serigrapher Rhys Wootton, a member of B.R.A.G. (Brighton Rock Arts Group) will be paying us a visit to host a Gig Poster Masterclass , not only giving practical guidance on layout design and production of multiple-colour prints, but also providing industry tips on approaching bands for work and getting a foot-hold in the industry. Ideal for those who have done our UV screen-print induction. £45 Including materials.
