Every year Pat's Peak in Henniker, New Hampshire hosts a Scout Weekend for scouts from all around the region. Pack 95 has participated in this
several times in the past and the scouts (and parents and siblings!) have always had a great time. The scout weekend is a lot of fun and a great value. Usually we participate in the "POP" program, which includes rental ski/snowboard, lift ticket from 3-10 PM, and snowtubing from 5-10 PM - all for a very reasonable price. Other options are available as well, including that of a sleepover. Organizing this event probably requires about 3 hours of work and involves: - Putting the event on the pack calendar
- Submitting contact info to Pat's Peak (via online form) and receiving forms in mail
- Promoting trip to pack via e-mail
- Gathering list of attendees and their choices (POP vs. other option, rental, meals, etc.) early enough to compile the data before the Pat's Peak deadline
- Gathering checks from families
- Completing Group Trip Planner Form (and other forms) and return to Pat's Peak
- Sending details (directions, times, etc.) to attendees
- Arriving at Pat's Peak a bit early to get lift tickets
- Meeting attendees and passing out tickets
- Taking a group photo
And as a bonus for organizing this event, the organizer generally gets a free lift ticket from Pat's Peak! |
