Complete Information: Scout Orienteering Fall 2009

Saturday, October 24 10:30-3:00 (rain or shine)
Where:
Nobscot Scout Reservation, Sudbury, Mass. (map) Program: Skill development, training, and practice. For first time orienteers, an experienced guide from the New England Orienteering Club will be assigned to work with you and your group and help Scouts learn skills and pass requirements. Scouts (and adults) will be able to learn orienteering skills such that they will be able to participate in Sunday's competition if so desired regardless of prior experience. Ample orienteering courses will be available for scouts to practice their orienteering skills. Waiver: The waiver attached to the bottom of this page must be completed for every participant and brought to the event (or given to den leader in advance). Cost: The cost is $8 per participant (scout or parent). Please reimburse your den leader (cash, check, or PayPal accepted). Equipment: Compass (a "basic" protractor type with clear plastic base is fine and rentals are available for $.50), whistle (for safety), watch (because there are time limits), Class B uniform (T-shirts), and appropriate outerwear and footwear.
