Here is the line up for the show and sell popcorn this far. I will update this list as people call me with their time slot requests. Since we have access to two or more doors at Lowe's we can have up to 6 cub scouts at a time during our 2 hour time slot. All dates are at Lowe's in San Marcos. I went to Lowe's at 11:45 on July 18 and found ample shade by the main entrance and exit doors, however the store could arrange the outside equipment differently from day to day. You will want to bring a hat and water. The pack will supply tables to work from and a cash bag to make change from. We need at least 2 parents there at all times, and Tiger cubs must have a parent present.

Update on Summer Food Drive - Please help:
Packs have been assigned to cover specific "Zones".
Pack 18's zone is from RR12/Hopkins intersection down to around Bishop street, up to about Wonderworld and back over to Loop Street near Crockett.
All Pack 18 parents and scouts meet at FUMC at 0900 this Saturday July 18 to get individual street assignments and door hangers. This should only take about an hour each Saturday.
Boys and Adults should wear Class A uniforms.
We will similarly regroup on Sat. 7/25 for food pick up.
Please email me or call if you have any questions or if you need more door hangers.

Scouting for Food 2009 - Keep Texas Fed July 18-25th, 2009
Please help support the Scouting for Food 2009 drive this year by helping collect non-perishable food on Saturday, July 25th.
How Can You Help? Contact Tracy Mock if you would like to participate with Pack 18. Email tmock@austin.rr.com or phone Hm 512-353-3707 and Mob 512-754-1077. I have door hangers for you to distribute in your neighborhood.
* Distribute door hangers in your neighborhood the week of July 18th - 25th. The door hangers ask that non-perishable food items be placed on doorsteps on Saturday, July 25th before 10 am. You can even personalize the back of the door hangers with a personal message or note. * Parents - Ask friends, family, and co-workers to contribute non-perishable food items. * A scout will come by to collect food from doorsteps on Saturday, July 25th. If you use a plastic bag, we will recycle it.
Canned meat, stew, tuna and chili (pop tops preferred) Canned vegetables Beans and rice Pasta and pasta sauce Healthy cereals Baby food and formula Peanut butter
Our hope is that we exceed last year's food collection total - If each scout collects only 12 lbs. of food, we'll make that goal!!!
How It Works? July 13-18th KEYE will publicize the food drive. On or around Saturday, July 18th, participating scouts put out door hangers. July 18-25th, KEYE will have at least 3 announcements per day with at least 2 of them during the newscast. This may include scout interviews. Saturday, July 25th, food collection & delivery to the food bank.
Why Scouts? Service is a core value of scouting. Scouts have been helping their communities with Scouting for Food drives since 1988. "To Help Other People" is part of the Scout Oath.
Why the Partnership? KEYE and Randalls have been helping the food bank for 8 years. By adding Scouting for Food, we gain publicity for our food drive and consequently, we bring in more food for the food bank - a win for everyone.
Who Are We Helping? All food collected by the scouts will stay in the community in which it was collected. Who are you helping? Your neighbors!!
Facts at a Glance * Nearly one in five adults and one in four children in Texas are hungry. * 61% of AISD students are eligible for free or reduced lunch. * In 2008, Capital Area Food Bank distributed more than 17 million pounds of food. * Our Partner Agencies have seen an up to 50% increase in need since this time last year, many seeking food assistance for the very first time. * The largest month of distribution in our 27-year history was last October. We are replacing 1.8 - 2 million pounds of food every month. |
