Santa Clara Scouting has never been better.
For decades, Pack 43 leaders and volunteers have provided fun, value-oriented programming right in your backyard.
Our Pack is designed for youth in Kindergarten through 5th grade and serves schools near you such as Eisenhower Elementary, Monticello Academy, St. Justin's School, Sutter Elementary, and Stratford School along with surrounding neighborhoods in Santa Clara, CA.
Pack 43 is proudly chartered by the American Legion Post 419. And as part of the Pioneer District in the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council (SVMBC) of the Boy Scouts of America, we have the right team to provide the best Cub Scout experiences.
Dive into a calendar year full of events and activities.
Pack 43 typically holds smaller Den meetings 2-3 times per month and a larger Pack meeting once per month.
Aside from these traditional gatherings, we schedule events like hiking, biking, and overnight excursions around perennial events like Fall/Spring camping, a Blue & Gold potluck dinner with entertainment, and the ever popular Pinewood Derby.
And it gets better.
As part of the larger Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council of the Boy Scouts of America, all active Pack 43 Cub Souts are eligible to attend SVMBC events such as additional camping nights, BBQ's, archery/BB Gun training, the Council-wide Scout-o-Rama, and much more.
Beyond the collaborations of Cub Scouts and their peers, there are many different groups and roles working together to produce the best Scouting experiences. Like other Packs, Pack 43 is powered by creative, helpful, and team-oriented parents and volunteers engaged in roles like Committee members, Den leaders, and event coordinators.
Dens are small groups of Cub Scouts organized by grade. For example, the Tiger Den is a group for First Graders. Dens typically meet 2-3x a month September-May.
The Pack is a collective set of several Dens. Each Pack is assigned a number - our Pack number is 43. The Pack typically meets once a month September-May.
Committees created by Councils to provide more localized support to Scouting. Districts work with multiple Packs.
National Boy Scouts of America sponsored charters responsible for providing the Scouting program to a defined geographical area.
Build lifelong skills and earn achievements
Each Den is focused on advancing Cub Scouts toward an associated Scouting Badge of Rank e.g. Lion, Tiger, Wolf, etc.
Ranks are achieved upon the completion of several preset requirements or what we call adventures. Adventures range from practical lessons like the fundamentals of camping safety, campfire cast iron cooking, and first aid to character building lessons like team building exercises, sportsmanship and community engagements. Additionally, Cub Scouts can earn achievements or badges for completing tasks outside of their main Scouting Rank Adventures.
Cub Scouts are assigned a Den based on grade level.
The Cub Scout year typically runs September-May but you are welcome to join our Pack at any time.
