Tyler DesRoches is a PhD student in the Philosophy Department at the University of British Columbia, under the supervision of Professor Margaret Schabas. He holds an honours degree in economics from Saint Mary's University (2002), a MA in economics from the University of Victoria (2004), and a MA in philosophy from the Erasmus Institute for Philosophy and Economics (EIPE) at Erasmus University Rotterdam (2009). Between 2005 and 2007 Tyler was a Forest Economist at Natural Resources Canada in Victoria, BC. His current research interests are in the history and philosophy of economics and his PhD thesis will focus on the concept of natural capital.




Tyler has written for the Journal of the History of Economic Thought (with Malcolm Rutherford) and is co-Editor of the Erasmus Journal for Philosophy and Economics (EJPE), an Open Access Journal that is run by PhD students at EIPE. EJPE publishes academic articles, book reviews, PhD thesis summaries, invited papers, and interviews under four research domains: (1) the history of economic thought, (2) methodology of economics, (3) ethics and economics and (4) interdisciplinary issues relating economics to other fields.
