Chandler Murray's Art Portfolio

: Artist Bio

Chandler Murray, Youth Artist
Amelia Island, Florida
Chandler Murray, self-taught, left-handed artist, has been drawing and painting since the age of 2.
Give him a pencil and paint brushes and he will compose an abstract piece reminiscent of a young
Picasso or Miro. Chandler was born in Rochester, MN, and moved with his parents to Florida at age 8.
Chandler won an Easter coloring contest sponsored by Hallmark at 2 years old. He hasn’t stopped
since! He has won a variety of art awards in school. In Fall 2005, a selection of his abstract pieces
was displayed, along with those of college students, in the Presidential Suite at the
Lake City Community College. His original artwork has been shown to the curator at the
Jacksonvile Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), where he was told he is an up and coming
artist
of this millennium.

Chandler participates regularly in art expos such as the Downtown Jacksonville Art Walk and
North Beaches Art Walk in Atlantic Beach. In 2008, Chandler was the youngest artist selected to
design a Holiday Window Display Project for Make a Scene Downtown! in Jacksonville, Florida.
Chandler designed a 3-D festive display called Do You See What I See, and was personally
congratulated by Mayor John Peyton of Jacksonville for this design.
