Handicap index proof:
we have not asked for a proof of your handicap index in our first tournament. However, to be fair to those who a serious about the game, we will not accept your index verbally. Ideally, those who want to compete should bring a printout of your last scores (ideally 20) with a resulting index calculated from these scores. If you don't have it and still want to compete for our "rich" prizes you will be considered a scratch player, i.e. having the index equal to 0.

MINUTES OF THE CSWGA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
FRIDAY, MARCH 7, 2008

The board of directors, aided by Vaclav T. and Ivan O., had met to discuss and implement the suggestions and improvements brought up at the last AGM.

TOURNAMENTS:

There will be a total of 6 tournaments held in 2008, starting in May and ending with the Open in October. We will continue to play Saturday mornings and the preliminary schedule is as follows: May 17, June 21, July 19, Aug.16, Sept. 20 and Oct. 18.
The tournaments will be played on different courses, one or two in the west end and the rest in the north east of the city. The first tournament will be held at the Westview GC and Mike B. will organize.
The rest of the tournaments will be co-ordinated by Jana B., aided by members living in the selected areas. The Open will be played at the Pheasant Run GC.

FORMAT:

In all regular tournaments we will be competing for the $25 GolfTown certificates in the 'Closest to pin' on all par three's and 'Longest drive' categories (L/G), making it six prizes in total.
An additional 'fun' prize might be considered, 'Most golf' comes to mind. Some of the 'middle' tournaments could have a different format (mixed doubles, etc). Suggestions are welcome.

As in the past, the Open will be played on the Low Gross basis (no handicaps) and the winners in Ladies and Gents categories will each be presented with the Cup and a GT certificate. We will also compete in the other categories described above.

SCORING

It was decided to implement a new scoring system where players in a foursome swap score cards before the play starts and each player is responsible for keeping the score of the player whose card he was given. This system will improve scoring accuracy and will become the basis on which realistic individual handicaps will be assessed for the 2009 season.

MEMBERSHIP CARDS/FEES

Courtesy of Marek H. and Charlie A. the cards will be distributed at the first tournament in exchange for the annual fees which continue to be $35 single and $55 double membership.
The members who did not attend the AGM and wish to have the cards made are to forward Marek their passport photos as soon as possible so that Charlie can do the encasing in one batch.
