- Are there tryouts for the team?
- Yes, we hold tryouts every year for all new and returning players.
- How many players will you take during tryouts?
- The club carries two teams. We will usually take around 20 players on each team.
- Is there only club soccer at CSU
- Yes, CSU only has a club team for the time being.
- Are there any scholarships available for playing club soccer
- Because we are a club team, it means that we receive no funding through the University thus we can offer no scholarships as you can receive if you play on a NCAA or NAIA team. However, we do plenty of fundraising to help cover the costs of tournaments, team gear, etc.
- Does the club have any recruiters that can evaluate potential players?
- Again, because we are a club sport we have no such networking. However, it is recommended that if you want coaches to evaluate your skill level that you participate in showcase tournaments where soccer recruiters and coaches can watch you play.
- What do tryouts look like?
- We usually have tryouts toward the end of the first week of fall classes. They will usually run for 2-4 days. Anywhere between 60-100 girls tryout each season. Several coaches will be there evaluating the players. They are run much like any soccer club tryouts.
- What is the commitment level?
- While this is not a varsity level NCAA team, we do practice 4 times a week for 2 hours. High level of commitment is desired from every player, but coaches understand school commitments and will work with you around school conflicts. However, regular commitment is expected throughout the course of the season as we are a competitive team.
- What types of teams do you play?
- We play all three of Univ. of Colorado's club teams, Univ. of Northern Colorado, Denver University, etc. during regular season. During tournaments and at Nationals we will play club teams such as Penn State, Univ. of Arizona, Arizona State, Michigan State, Univ. of Michigan, Deleware, Texas State, University of Texas, Texas A&M, etc.
- What are the chances of me making the team?
- That is an impossible question to answer, but generally the girls who make the teams were actively involved high school and club soccer players.
- When is the informational meeting?
- The info meeting will be held the first few days of class during the fall semster. The time, date, and exact location are TBA but we will update that through the club facebook page as it becomes available.
