Youngstown State Univ. PME Undergraduate Student Conference (2/21/2009)

The eleventh annual YSU Regional Pi Mu Epsilon Undergraduate Student Conference is Saturday, February 21st 2009 at Youngstown State University.

The conference consists of presentations by undergraduate students on math topics that interest them in a relaxed, friendly environment.  Students who wish to register to give a ten- to fifteen-minute talk can  register online  or view the archive of  past presentations.   (The deadline for online registration is noon on Wednesday, February 17th.) The conference also offers a great opportunity to meet with other undergraduate students interested in mathematics and enjoy free breakfast and lunch!

This year's conference will also feature a presentation by students who competed in the COMAP Mathematical Modeling Competition, and a special session on Mathematical Biology in conjunction with Youngstown State University's MBUR program.  ( http://www.mbur.ysu.edu/ )

The Ohio MAA Spring '09 Meeting is April 3-4 at Bowling Green State University.  We will keep you updated about this.

Highlights of Previous Events

• We congratulate Jennifer Stoneking from the Advising Office for winning the first-ever Math Club Set Tournament held during our weekly meeting on Sept. 30!   Her polished skill at the mind-challenging card game has won her the prize of a new game set.
