"Pride in our past, faith in our future...."
300 North Broadway Upper Nyack, New York 10960 ~ (845) 358-3767
Our Heritage Congregation Sons of Israel is a dynamic, egalitarian-traditional Conservative synagogue. We are a medium-sized congregation with a large number of families with Hebrew school age children.
Our congregation was founded in 1891, and after several moves and buildings, settled in 1967 in the park-like setting on the former site of the Pitkin estate. The main synagogue building consists of a large air-conditioned sanctuary with its inspiring stained glass windows, the adjoining foyer, social hall and stage, rabbi's study, library, and main office.
Our Mission We are an egalitarian conservative Jewish congregation dedicated to:
- Educating ourselves and our children - Developing and maintaining a vibrant caring community - Enhancing our spiritual growth, experience and wonder - Living and honoring the traditions of our ancestors - Fostering an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment - Protecting the rights and ideals of the Jewish community.
We embrace these important ideas and powerful ideals to guide our lives and the lives of generations to come, promoting Tikun Olam, the healing of the world.
