Reporter Musician Nerd Cook | I was born on a cold December's night in 1985 in Dover, Ohio and then spent the better part of 18 years living in Coshocton, Ohio. I graduated from Coshocton High School in 2004 then attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. After two years of studying psychology and political science, I switched gears and transferred to Kent State University at Tuscarawas and studied Communication Studies. In 2009 I graduated with an Associate of Arts and then graduated, with honors this time, again in May of 2011 with a Bachelor degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Applied Communication. I currently work at the Tuscarawas County Bargain Hunter, a free paper that delivers the best stories from our area. I also am currently a tour guide at the J.E. Reeves Victorian Home and Carriage House Museum in Dover; here I walk visitors through the history of the Reeves family as we tour their home, which has been restored to its original splendor. In my free time I love to read; I'll read anything from the snarky take of history from Sarah Vowell to the discussions of cosmology by Hawking and Kaku. I also love music, both performing and listening. During the summer I play in the Dominic Greco Band, a community band in Tuscarawas County that features more than 90 of the areas best musicians and performs classical music, to opera, country, classic rock, movie scores and everything in between. Another past time is cooking, I love being in the kitchen and trying new things, though my parents often don't like the "trying new things" part. These first 26 years have been a blast, here's to looking forward to the next 26! |
