COACHING STAFF
Head Coach - Duane Grasmick (4th Season at Crowley County)
Coach Grasmick is entering his 14th season as a varsity head basketball coach. Grasmick came to Crowley County from McClave, where he guided the Cardinals to become one of the best teams in 1A, and becoming the winningest coach in McClave boys history. Prior to McClave, Grasmick led the Primero Bulldogs to two state tournaments and four regional playoffs in his four years there. Coach Grasmick is married to Erica, and they have four children: Heidi (Soph.), Sarah (5th), Tim (3rd) and Jaxon (2nd).
Assistant Coach - Gene Franklin (2nd Season)
Coach Franklin is entering 2nd year as an assistant coach with Crowley County. Coach Franklin, a full time school employee, was an outstanding track participant for Pueblo East High School. He also participated in basketball at Pueblo East. Coach Franklin moved here from Colorado Springs in 2007 with his wife Rebecca. They have three daughters and two sons who are grown.
Assistant Coach - Brett Rusher (2nd Season)
Coach Rusher will be volunteering with the high school boys team this year, along with coaching the junior high boys and girls teams. Coach Rusher has been coaching the junior high teams for the past three seasons, coaching many of the players on the current roster to great success. Coach Rusher is married to Stephanie, the junior high and elementary counselor, and their daughter Callie is in 7th grade.

The Crowley County Chargers play in the Sante Fe League, which includes the Fowler Grizzlies, Swink Lions, Las Animas Trojans, John Mall Panthers and Rocky Ford Meloneers.
The Crowley County Chargers participate in District 4 for the post season, which includes the Burlington Cougars along with league rivals Rocky Ford, Swink and Las Animas.
In 2008, the Colorado High School Activities Association approved a 32-team state tournament bracket for Class 2A, in which Crowley County is classified for basketball. To qualify for this tournament, the Chargers must finish in the top three teams in District 4. |
