"Our bible or our cell phone"
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of an emergency?
This is something that makes you go......hmm.......where is my
Bible?
Oh, and one more thing. Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to
worry
about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the
bill.
Makes you stop and think "where are my priorities?"
And no dropped calls! --

We have only two types of commandments to follow. Love God with everything that is in you, and love your neighbor as yourself.
Yes, it sounds great, but for most people, figuring out how to follow them is the problem. I know it is for me....
And in the end, you have to make choices. You simply cannot let things slide forever, nor can you plan your life around what is good for you alone.
God wants us to live His way, not our own. To that purpose, we have to begin somewhere, and we begin with the subdivision of the two types of commandments into the famous Ten Commandments. The first four are about putting God first in our lives, and honoring Him, while the rest are about not hurting others.
And living out a Christian life is about choosing what to do when, and to whom, every day...every hour...and eventually, every minute.
You don't learn how to do it without effort, and you have to begin and end each day in a struggle to follow after the One who climbed a hill to be crucified.
You will sometimes feel as if you are climbing to Calvary, but in reality, you are only learning the first steps in a complicated dance with God.
