Edward Thomas

Ed Thomas is a father of five, who works as the youth minister at Lötenkyrkan. A Californian celebrity-chef who has cooked for Tom Cruise, Ed moved to Sweden over a decade ago - if you want to find out how God moved Ed, you'll have to ask Ed himself! Ed enjoys winter, snowboarding, sci-fi, tennis, picking mushrooms, and riding his motorcycle (the latter of which are unfortunately incompatible with his preference for winter).
Ed's passion is to help people of all ages and from whatever country come to know and follow Jesus - though it seems that young people in particular like coming up to say hello (maybe it's the crazy hair?) Ed is interested in the history of the early church and works to study the Bible within its original Jewish cultural context.

Johan Lundberg

My name is Johan Lundberg. Most of my passions center around talking and reading (about everything from worldviews in fantasy literature to Biblical Hebrew grammar). I especially enjoy studying the Bible with other people. I am currently doing a degree in theology and I hope to be preaching and teaching the Bible both in the church and to help the next generation of theologians and pastors to be faithful to our Lord.

Mattias Olofsson

Hi y'all! I recently came back from an exchange year at Luther Seminary in Minnesota, US . Now I'm now back in Sweden and Uppsala and currently studying to be a pastor for Swedish Evangelical Mission (EFS). When I'm not teaching, preaching or studying the Word of God you'll probably find me doing the dishes in the kitchen, reading a book or in front of my computer (I like technology)! ;) See you at Cross Culture!

Jonas Ljunggren
Currently a student of theology in Uppsala. Born in the beautiful West Sweden. Love soccer, floorball and some other sports. I would like Anders Svensson for president. I find history and culture fascinating.

Isac Hedén
Hi, I m Isac; from the beautiful region of Dalarna in Central Sweden, which is probably why I like skiing, snowboarding, and cycling so much. I also really enjoy doing maths, and am a PhD student in algebraic geometry. I sometimes help with translating English to Swedish, and I also like playing the piano, so I do that for worship occasionally. As you see, I enjoy doing many things - most of all, I like meeting new friends, so do come and say hello!

Henok Ghebrai
My name is Henok Ghebrai. I am a student at a bible school in Uppsala. I enjoy talking about God and spending time with people. I translate in the Cross Culture service and it's just one of many ways to help out.

Su-lin Hedén
G'day! / ho ma? / hej!

I was born in Singapore, moved to Sydney with my family when I was 7 years old, then moved to Uppsala in 2007 for a post-doc position in Microbiology at SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, the "other" university here in Uppsala). My research area is Food Mycology (moulds and yeasts on food and animal feed) and I also do some teaching. When I first moved to Uppsala, I wondered if I would develop exciting new interests - but no, the truth emerged - I'm just a girl who likes watching sci-fi and singing classical music (currently with UAK, Uppsala Academic Chamber Choir). I'm also interested in how to talk about Jesus "cross-culturally" and have spent time in Cambodia and Vietnam. Oh, in case you noticed that I have the same last name as Isac (above) - ours was the first wedding in the Cross Culture community!

Berit Bernert

Hallihallo! My name is Berit and I studied Biotechnology in Germany. At the moment, I’m working at a laboratory here in Uppsala, hoping to one day get my PhD. I enjoy cooking immensely - which is very similar to mixing chemicals, I guess. ;) That’s why I am responsible for the food at Cross Culture. If you like cooking or would like to find out (you never know, you might have a hidden talent there), contact me and we can feed Cross Culture together. =)

Annie Mya-Li Svensson
I'm from Skaraborg but have a Beninese heart. I'm a woman filled with joy who loves grammar and most things concerning languages. Aiming for linguistic work with Wycliffe, but as long as I'm in Sweden Uppsala and Cross Culture is my home.

Theo Löwensteijn
My name is Theo Löwensteijn and I'm from The Netherlands.

I love God and really like to work with Cross Culture.

I'm part of the welcome team. And my hope is that everybody who comes

to visit us will really feel welcome!

Lauri Mesilaakso
