The 19th Annual Johzenji Street Jazz Festival in Sendai
We have just wrapped up our latest gig on this three-day holiday (September 13-15) and are preparing to make our way back to Kansai from Sendai.  Before we head out, we'd like to, first and foremost, thank everyone who made the trip over/up to see us.  It was great to see some familiar faces at the gig, and personally, it was a pleasure meeting everyone who came out to support us.
Also, we would like to thank the festival patrons who took the time to stop and listen to us, even if for a brief moment.  We're always eager to welcome people who are curious about our music and sound, and this festival was the perfect opportunity for us to invite people, literally off the street, to come listen to a set and give us their feedback.  Always a pleasure--thanks for coming out!

Warm-up Gig at Afterbeat, 9/7/08
We decided it'd be a good idea to plan a gig a week before the Johzenji Jazz Festival, and we chose to play it at Afterbeat, a mid-sized club on the southeast corner of Shichijo-Omiya in Kyoto.  The gig proved to be a great learning experience for all of us, and despite it being an indoor venue, we all took full advantage of it as an opportunity to test our 40-minute set, intended for the Sendai jazz festival, on the Kyoto audience.  That night, we were 4th in a five-band lineup, and as usual at Afterbeat, the mutual respect and positive feedback were in the air throughout the mic checks and in between shows.  In short, we considered tweeking the set (6 originals), and since we knew we would be performing the following week without a rehearsal, we individually made mental notes of everything that needed improving in preparation for the jazz festival.
