General Policies
 1. Each quarter, students will be updated with the number of hours they have successfully completed. Students receive a Pass/ Fail grade posted on report cards separate from the Theology grade. The due date for hours is listed in the Weekly Planner, March 1st, 2010. Quarterly updates do not remain on the permanent record; the final grade is posted at second semester and recorded on the student’s transcript.  If a student fails to complete the required hours, a Failure is reported at second semester on the report card, permanently recorded on the student’s transcript, and no graduation credit is awarded.

2. To receive graduation credit, the student, who has failed must complete make-up hours through the CRISTO – Christian Service office. Service hours and theology service assignments already completed during the year will not count towards the make-up of a failure. Once the makeup is completed the graduation credit is earned but the transcript grade remains a posted failure.

3. All service hours must be at approved placements.  When working at approved agencies, students must complete approved work.

4. No late hours will be accepted beyond due date printed in the planner.  Absences on the due dates must be excused. Hours must be turned in before the due date in the case of planned absences including school sports/activities.

5. A student who cheats on service hours in any way will lose credit for all hours completed during the year, even those that may have been earned honestly. The student will receive a failure on the transcript, and will have to start the year’s hours over in order to earn the credit. Cheating includes but is not limited to the following:

      a. Forging a signature or falsifying a signature card.

      b. Documenting hours completed before the actual service work occurs.

      c. Inflating hours.

      d. Claiming to work at a place but not doing so or at a place that does not exist.

      e. Claiming hours that have not been performed.

7.  If for any reason a student is removed from a service agency, any hours completed will be voided.   In the case of seniors, students must secure a new contract and begin all hours again.

8. Christian Service hours must be completed outside of the student’s scheduled classes with the exception of service retreats and service partnership projects pre-scheduled through the service office.

9. Students may not be paid money while completing their service hours.

10. Students are not allowed to complete their Christian Service hours at functions that serve alcohol.
