There are many Web 2.0 applications that are available on the net.  They range from the extremely useful to the inane.  Applications that will help students and instructors to be more creative or to demonstrate knowledge will be highlighted below.  Due to the shortage of funding in education, almost all of the applications chosen are free, or have a limited free trial period.  Some of the applications are a lot of fun. After all, shouldn't learning be fun?  I will attempt to categorize the links to the applications, but as the content grows, I may have to reorganize the categories.  For now - the basic categories are:
