I can't think of a better way to congratulate the parents and celebrate the up-coming birth of a new baby than with a Baby Shower. Here are a few cakes created to celebrate such joyous occasions.

About  Cakes:

1) The Bassinet - A baby lays sleeping in a bassinet of molded sugar covered in fondant. A Little bluebird watches over the sleeping baby and a teddy bear leans against the baby's bed. Iced in Buttercream icing .

3) Precious surprise - Front View of Pumpkin surrounded in a colorful array of flowers.
4) The back view shows the baby sleeping inside the pumpkin shell.
For this cake the customer asked that I use a brown and Pinkish orange color scheme and that the cake had to have a pumpkin on it and a baby too.

5) My Bears and I - All decorations on this cake are hand modeled from Gum paste. Cake is Iced in Buttercream Icing.
 
6) Jungle Baby - This cake was made for a Curious George themed baby shower. Basket is piped Royal icing. the rest is all gum paste. Cake is covered in Marshmallow fondant.

7) It's a Girl - Iced in Buttercream and imprinted with a diamond press to give this cake a Quilted look. Small pink fondant beads accent the quilting. The Bassinet is made of Molded sugar and decorated with gumpaste details. The bear, the blocks and the Roses are all hand crafted as well from gumpaste.
