It is Japan 1572, the end of the Seguko period of history. Like many transitions of power the country is filled with strife, warring factions pulling any able bodied men into war, leaving villages populated by only women, children and old men. Now a small, nearly indefensible village is living under the horror of a dangerous threat that casts its long shadow over the village. Without a defender, its people are almost certainly doomed. Enter Kagematsu, a wayward ronin fleeing a troubled past. Here is a defender for the village, if only he can be swayed from his meandering course. So it is that several young women conspire among themselves to win his affections and steer him to their cause… Kagematsu is a fast paced game for 3 to 6 players with quick scenes that should play out in one session. Price will include the 40 page game book with an expanded appendix and the gorgeous tri-fold Kagematsu screen.
Kagematsu in its final form will be available soon!

Wow! I sold out of Kagematsu on Friday! Just 2 days into the con. It was a limited run of hand crafted covers with a folded kimono on each. Photo coming soon.
I am happily shocked and ready to get another print run going. Thank you everyone for purchasing the game, and being so cool by reading it during the con (while you could have been gaming) and telling me how much you like it. I am the happiest girl right now!
Here is the Limited Edition of Kagematsu with a handcrafted cover featuring a paper kimono. A pic of the interior artwork by Anna Kreider. Thanks to Paul for being my hand model. ============================================================================================= What people are saying about Kagematsu Ron Edwards “This is a game in which a certain degree of failed overtures is likely, but what matters is their distribution. It affects not only the rolling-on of events, but also the way that back-story for the samurai and context for the women get generated… I think the probabilities of the dice mechanics, including the desperation rules, are absolutely spot-on exactly where they need to be.”
Darcy Burgess “…I've called Kagematsu a "stealth crunch" game.”
Anna Kreider “I love[d] having the secret rolls.”The above from a playtest post here.

Kagematsu is mentioned by Robin Laws on his Gen Con Day 3 post. Thanks Robin!
