A new ad hoc Committee originally named "Push Back" and now renamed RETIREMENT SECURITY was formed at the Spring Conference in San Diego.  President Skip Murphy has appointed a Chair Dave Muir from RELAC and Vice Chair, Ron James of Ventura.  Members are: DeBord, (Sacramento), Robinson (Orange), McBride (Marin), Mohr (Santa Barbara), Scarpino (Orange), Janes (Ventura), Shoemaker (San Diego), Shor (Sonoma), and Tobler (Sonoma).  Their purpose is to get our some positive publicity about defined benefit plans for county workers which includes factual and positive information for the public. They hope to address the often wrong and incomplete information provided in articles, letters to the Editor, and other sources who are clearly anti-pension proponents.
