Upcycled Book  Turning an old classic into a new favorite

August 30th at 7pm central (8pm eastern)
Instructor:  Samantha Starr

The inspiration for this class came from one of the many great garage sales
Montreal hosts in the summer. I went to one that was specifically for used books.

Inside this garage I found gorgeous books with beautiful covers and spines,
but many of them had sadly succumbed to years of humidity, dust and dirt, and were just plain icky!

I picked up a few and decided that they would sit on my mantle as décor until
I realized that they downright STUNK!

Enter the inspiration for this class! We will be taking old books and giving them new life,
by removing the pages, recovering the inside covers, and rebinding new,
blank pages for them using Coptic stitching. This class is a great for beginners
to binding or for experts alike. This a great technique based class. These books are
perfect for altered art, art journals, daily writing journals and gift giving.

Instructor will also share ideas on embellishing.
