Dixon Homes Bundaberg Rider Toby Boylan continued his great form from the Arafura Games at the Metropolitan Championships on 30th and 31st of May.
In Saturday's Criterium at Murarrie Toby continued his good form with a 4th place in a very close finish.
The Road Race on Sunday is always a tough affair, being held on the hilly course at Boonah, west of Brisbane. A break of 5 riders spent most of the race off the front, with the peloton happy to let them go in the windy conditions. On the last lap through Mt Alford the bunch came to life, bringing the break back, and shedding riders out the back double time. Veteran Mark Ledgerwood attacked on the final rise toward the Mt Alford township and managed to hold his advantage to the line. Toby placed 8th, which was an excellent effort considering he was flying solo against all the big teams.
