This work combined two of my passions - the circle and the cosmos. 

Each of the 35 elements in this 5 by 7 matrix painting were created using those themes but without any other specific intent. That is, no image was developed to represent a specific planet, sun, nebula, segment of the cosmos. Instead, each result was allowed to freely come together as the colors played out and the shapes settled onto being.

Once completed, the elements were mounted approximately 3/8" above the background board to give some depth of appearance.

Each element has a name (which I'll try to expand on at a future time).
