I
have had the privilege of being involed with the Buteyko Method of
breathing since its introduction to the West over fifteen years ago in
the early 1990's.
During
this time, it has gone from virtual obscurity to becoming
internationally acclaimed as an authentic drug free approach to
reversing asthma and other respiratory related problems.
But this is only the tip of an enormous iceberg!
There
is no part of the human body or mind that can operate independently of
the way we breathe. Apart from obvious breathing problems such as
asthma, bronchitis, emphysema and sleep apnoea etc; the
consequences of poor breathing cause immense disturbance to the
chemistry of the human organism and result in a diverse plethora of
health problems such as diabetes, circulatory problems and even
weakened immunity and intellect. This fact is not widely known, despite
being incontrovertibly underpinned by known physiology and biochemistry.
For
some ten years I trained under Alexander Sergeevich Stalmatski, whom
Professor Buteyko considered to be his best student and whom he chose
to introduce his method to the West. It was under his auspices that I
managed to train over 10,000 students, including the first generation
of Western Buteyko practitioners and to participate in the first
published Western medical trials and to introduce the method in Australia, United Kingdom, Ireland and the United States.
There
is a growing base of practitioners who have been trained to teach the
method for asthma and respiratory problems - this has meant that
many thousands of people all over the world have been able to reverse
these conditions and reduce their reliance of medications etc.
Yet
training for other complex conditions such as diabetes, chronic
fatigue, heart conditions, along with advanced Buteyko Method Training
is very rare. This is because advanced training was taught to very few
- as most interest was focused on asthma etc.
The
civilized world is going through an aggravated phase of extreme
greed, violence and dissonant philosophy. Stress, depression and
chronic diseases are growing exponentially. The Buteyko Method can
serve to ameliorate much of this suffering. The need for it
is clearly evident.
The
control, management and observation of breath are cornerstones of all
transcendental practices. Breathing is central to meditation and yoga -
but practical and powerful techniques are seldom taught. The Buteyko
Method is ideal for any person who wishes to elevate such
practices.
It
is vital that the Buteyko Method is taught under the direct supervision
of an experienced practitioner, as it is a process that needs to be
constantly modified. Internet based telephony provides a most exciting
opportunity, as it has tremendously lowered the costs of long distance
telephone communication. It is now possible to effectively teach and
consult to almost anyone, almost anywhere!
In
this website you will find a number of articles suitable for both
beginners and those who have intermediate, advanced and practitioner
interests. I hope you find the information of interest and I look
forward to being of service.
“It
has changed my life. Before, I could barely walk up stairs now I can manage a
10 mile hike. I was using my puffer four times a day as well as steroids, and
now I’m off all drugs.”

“I recommend this skill without
reservation, this is a resource anyone would benefit from learning. All this in
addition to the broad spectrum of well documented therapeutic applications.”

"I have just watched
a roomful of people who have suffered terribly from perhaps the most rampant
disease of this generation, long thought to be incurable, begin to recover from
it. Dramatically. Almost incredibly. Within five

unbelievable." And since last August, Mrs Beale has used no medication at
all.
