My faith in our country has been restored a tiny bit.  It's total garbage that the executive branch can bypass a person's constitutional rights by declaring them an "enemy combatant" and finally the courts are ruling on the side of the constitution.

Finally trying to add a second page to this site has made me realize that Google Pages has quite a few limitations on flexibility.  For example, it won't let me create a link using their tool from a page back to itself with the internal site links tool.  I could do it as an external link, but I'm trying to do everything on this page using just their tools that they seem to intend.  They also assume the name of every page is what's in the first title text box on the page, so I can't use that as a site name or else every page has the same name.  I also wish it would let us work on stylesheets in some fashion to create page templates.

 It all makes me feel like my hands are tied.  I think just a tiny bit more control over the pages in the built in tool would be nice.

Jimmy Carter's take on the Bush presidency.  This is totally dead on.  Bush should be impeached.  Of course if Bush were removed, we'd have Cheney as president....  *cry*  At least Paul Wolfowitz is no longer head of the World Bank, so at least on of the Neo-Conservatives who are destroying the world is out of the way.

Compromise is such a strange word: it is good when there are conflicts that need resolving but bad when there are values that should be upheld.  What happens in a conflict over values?

Those who know me know I'm not easily convinced of far-fetched conspiracy theories, but there seems to be clearly something that doesn't add up about the government's official account of the events of that day.  People really need to be aware of these things and ask the government the difficult questions so we can get some satisfactory answers.
