Running in a field of 150 girls who had all qualified to represent their region, Aisling did herself and the club proud to win a well-deserved bronze All-Ireland XC medal with the Cork team at the Curragh on December 11th 2011.

Running a distance of 750m in the U9 boys, Colin ran really well and finished strongly to win an individual medal for 5th place. A fantastic achievement in his first year competing at Cross Country and a performance that also won him a team gold medal with the U9 Cork team on the day. Well done Colin - a great example for the rest of the boys!
Building on her success of previous seasons, Aisling again wore the Courcey colours with success at both U11 and U12 level, winning gold with the Cork team and being selected to represent Cork at both U11 and U12 in the forthcoming All-Irelands - a great honour for her and the club. Well done Aisling - and best of luck in the All-Irelands!

The Under 11 girls competed very well at the County B's in a very foggy Carraig na bhFear on Sunday October 30th. Denise, Emily, Lilly, and Kelly all ran well and were delighted to win a silver team medal. Well done to the girls in their first cross country season! Photos to follow.

Twelve Courceys athletes competed in the County XC at Carraig na bhFear (October 2nd - Even) and Conna (today - Uneven). Colin (U9, U10), Ruairc (U9), Jack O'D (U10), Jack R (U10, U11),
Kelly (U10, U11), Charlotte (U11), Lily (U11), Emily (U11), Denise (U11), Aisling (U11, u12), Killian (U12), Aoibh (U13). All did very well completing distances from 750m (U9) - 2500m (U13). It was great to have a team entry for such a small club - the U11 girls all battled really hard with the team finishing just out of the medals in a very tough race. Special mention to Aisling and Colin both of whom won individual County medals both coming third out of large fields of athletes at Conna today. See photos. |

The West Cork XC races were held in Clonakilty Showgrounds yesterday, the first races of the season. For eleven Courceys AC athletes it was their first XC race. Many were running out of age and all can be pleased with themselves. With our good turnout, we had two teams competing. All U12 girls were running out of age and they competed very well. The U10 boys were delighted to win a team medal for their efforts. Well done to everyone! See photos. |
