Sad News from the Coterie Club
The 'Coterie Kids Club' was created so that parents with children could spend 5 mins with them in colouring and creating 3D animal shapes which they could take home, all free and available all day, every day in the foyer, no need to book in,.
just stop and do it.
Due to lack of interest in the 9 months it has been running the creatures have felt so alone and neglected that they have all left and gone to other places
The 'Coterie Kids Club are sad to lose Douglas Dog, Crystal Cat, Hoochy Poochy Houncynthia Spider All the hedgehogs, the creatures and butterflies not forgetting our fishy friend Fin McCool.
The good news is that they are avilable to take up residnce in some other place where they would be looked after.
Jean Golbys textile workshop was featured around the theme of gifts bags each of which was a gift in its own right not withstanding the gifts which may go into them.
Just to prove that art has no age barriers and turning the old saying " You are never to old to learn" on its head that "You are never to young to start" is exemplified by this work of Elenor and Nataile Ward who spent a day in the studio exploring the theme of animal patterns.

such was the inspiration of our last junior work that a further day class was held for a larger group of 7 junior 'Coterieists' which again explored the animal theme. Go to our blog page for a full review.
The finished work on canvas shows a virtuosity of thought and a potent of thing to come.

Persons purchasing these wands will have to comply with the terms and conditions of the Wizards Guild in so much that they will not turn their siblings into frogs or toads or other nasty things, and definitely not magic them to have warts.
Grown ups have not been left out, with two café’s, art exhibition in the gallery and Craft shop selling original art, jewellery, and craftwork at direct from the artist prices either for yourself or as gifts.

The Studio will be losing two of its students in September having been accepted at Teeside and Newcastle Universities for degrees in film/Vidio and Fine Art respectively.
We wish them all the best and look foreward to following their progress
The studio recently welcomed a visitor from Australia today (such is our reputation) in the form of 'Coterie' student Barbara Cooper's daughter 'Jenny' which coincided with an 'art in progress' pastel work by Barbara of an Australian sunset, taken from an image which had in turn been taken by Jenny and sent to her mother.

No doubt the finished artwork will be winging its way back to Australia from where it originated, How cool is all that?
