Research area:

I am currently interested in the biological mechanisms involved in
DNA double strand break (dsb) repair in Arabidopsis, as well
as in chromosome segregation. DNA dsb can be caused by abiotic
factors (chemicals, ionising radiation - gamma rays, UV rays, X-rays)
but also occur during meiosis before chromosome segregation takes place.
To characterise these mechanisms in plants further I am using EMS
meiotic mutants and reverse genetics as a tool to study the roles DNA
repair and chromosome cohesion. Microscopy analysis and biochemical
characterisation are also being implemented.
